The Watson Half Rack / Four-Way Smith Machine offers the best of both worlds in one compact design. Combining the popular Animal Half Rack with the Plate-Loaded Four-Way Smith, this system provides the flexibility to perform heavy compound movements safely and with correct form—no matter how intense the workout.

The Four-Way Smith operates on linear bearings, allowing the bar to glide forward and backward for a more natural, free-moving feel compared to standard smith machines. It can also be easily converted into a traditional fixed Smith by locking the horizontal movement, enabling vertical-only presses. The sliding bar can be moved completely out of the way, leaving the half rack free for unobstructed use.
